Officer Floyd N. Montgomery
End of Watch: Monday, June 28, 1948
Born: July 6, 1919

On June 28, 1948 Officers Floyd N. Montgomery and Paul J. Warrington answered a disturbance call at 1424 Forest Avenue shortly before 7am. Montgomery had just stepped out of his car when he was fatally wounded, he had time to fire his own weapon only once. Warrington responded to the gunfire, and was also wounded. He radioed for backup, and when it arrived, they found the assailants dead inside the house - an apparent murder-suicide.

Officer Montgomery joined the Kansas City Police Department on August 17, 1942, and left in 1944 when he went to serve in World War II in the Army. He was discharged in 1945 and then returned to the KCPD.
